Star Wars Rebels: The Inquisitors – a connection with The Clone Wars

With the trailer of Star Wars Rebels we learned that there were more than one Inquisitor as the trailer show us two more of them. Here’s my thoughts about these agents of the dark side :

The Inquisitors are Force-sensitive agents working for the Empire, they are not exactly Sith but they are dark side of the Force users, trained by Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine, their mission is to track down the Jedi who survived Order 66 and to prevent Force-sensitive children falling into Jedi hands. As season 2 trailer showed us, all the Inquisitors wear a double-bladed read lightsaber. Now that they are three it is safe to say that there are more than just them, more tracking Jedi around the Galaxy. Therefore these Inquisitors are like an army of the dark side. This concept of a sort of army of the dark side was first introduced in Star Wars The Clone Wars 02×03 Children of the Force. In this episode, Darth Sidious hired the bounty hunter Cad Bane to bring him Force-sensitive children in order to create an army of the dark side on Mustafar, his plans eventually failed at the end of the episode but the idea was there. I think that the Inquisitors are the results of this plan that Darth Sidious/Palpatine brought back to life when he created the Empire.
Mustafar was mentioned in Star Wars Rebels as the planet where the jedi go to die but we did not get any reason on why this planet was where the jedi go to die so my theory is that the Inquisitors are trained on Mustafar, the same place where the Force-sensitive children were sent for Sidious’ plans.
