After the news that J.J. Abrams would return to direct Episode IX, it has now been announced that the movie will be pushed back to December 20, 2019. It was originally schedule for May 2019. It makes sense considering Abrams and Chris Terrio have to write a new script, it demands a lot of work and this way the entire Sequel trilogy would have been released in December.
After the great news of J.J. Abrams directing Episode IX, we have less exciting news about the airing schedule of Star Wars Rebels season 4. Let’s just say that on one hand, season 4 is gonna go very, very fast as each week they will air 2 episodes. It really feels like Disney X.D. wants the show to be done as soon as possible. On the other hand, having 2 episodes each week means more of awesomeness! About the time the episodes will air, it will be multiple times each Monday so you will have your chance to watch the episodes when you want – 12:30 AM, 3:00 AM, 7:00 AM, 5:30 PM, 9:00 PM and it will also be available on the Disney WATCH app.
It’s him who started the Sequel trilogy with The Force Awakens and it’s him who will close this story. J.J. Abrams is set to return in the Star Wars universe to direct and co-write Star Wars Episode IX! The news was made today in announcement on the official website.
Episode IX will be produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, J.J. Abrams, Bad Robot, and Lucasfilm. J.J. Abrams and Chris Terrio will write the movie. Chris Terrio is known for writing Batman v Superman and Justice League so it’s definitely a great choice to have picked him, he did a brilliant work with DC Comics! J.J. coming back to direct the final installment of the trilogy makes sense, he created these new characters and it’s the best choice they could go with to complete their stories now.
Here’s what Kennedy said in the announcement:
“With The Force Awakens, J.J. delivered everything we could have possibly hoped for, and I am so excited that he is coming back to close out this trilogy.“
