And our second review of the day is the First Order Stormtrooper from the Black Series line, he is super-articulated (14POA). There are a little bit more of details on the paints than the one from the basic line, you can see it in the comparison shots – the hands, the chest, the back. The helmet is a little bit bigger, the figure itself is a little bit taller which is fine since they’re not clones so they don’t have to be all from of the same size. His upper chest tends to be a little bit twisted but that’s the articulation. In terms of accessories, he has his pistol blaster and his blaster unlike the one from the basic line who only has the blaster. Both weapons can be attached to his leg. What I was disappointed is they could have given him a few more accessories like a colored pauldron or the heavy armor vest, you can still take these accessories from the basic line ones and put them on him, it works but my point is that the Black Series line is supposed to be the collector’s line so they should put more stuff in it. Apart from that, it’s great to have a super-articulated Stormtrooper, especially for the characters who are troopers because it’s better if you can put them in a battle position rather than in a 5POA position. So this one is definitely worth it, however be careful about the paint apps. Mine is perfect but when I bought it, I saw other Stormtroopers that had bad paint apps, when you choose, really look at the details.

We have two new reviews for you today, the first one is Han Solo from the Black Series. Like the Han Solo from the basic line, he has his hair brown instead of gray like it should be. So I decided to paint his hair accurately like I did for the other figure, you can see the tutorial here, it’s exactly the same thing I did. I’m going to review this figure with the right hair because it’s better to look at when it’s accurate. Apart from this problem, this is a fantastic figure, it’s super-articulated (13POA!!), it has great paint app on the outfit, there’s a lot of detail on it as well. Visually, his blue jacket really has the aspect of a snow jacket. About the face, I have to say I prefer the one from the basic line, there’s something missing here about the likeness of Harrison, however it’s nice they thought about the scar on his chin, it’s not easy to see but it’s there. The blaster is also really well done and it fits in the holster.
The choice of releasing Han Solo in this outfit for the Black Series line is an odd choice because you see him in this outfit for maybe like 5 minutes while he has his other outfit for the rest of the movie. It’s the super articulated line, they don’t release a lot of figure in this line so they need to be careful on the choice of characters, his normal outfit would have been a better choice. This snow outfit in the basic line would have been nice and it will probably be released there too soon or later. I’m happy we got Han Solo in this outfit but maybe like I said it wasn’t for the right line.
So in the end, it’s a great figure but Hasbro has to deal with this problem of an aged Han Solo, he is old in The Force Awakens, he has gray hair so should his figures!

Today we have 2 new reviews for you. We’ll start with Leia from The Force Awakens. Hasbro decided to release her first in the Black Series 3.75inch and with her outfit from the end of the movie and not the Resistance outfit. It’s a strange move to do that and even more to release the figure several months after the film was released in cinemas. However, I got to say that I’m happy Hasbro decided to release this version of Leia. This outfit is very senator-like, reminiscent of Padmé’s outfits which is a nice nod to the Prequels and Leia’s mother. A part of the outfit is in fabric, it doesn’t allow poses for the figure but it is visually more beautiful than if it was just all in plastic. Hasbro really put a lot of effort in this figure, there is an attention for detail – they made sure that she has her ring and her hearings. There is also details in the hair and they respected the heights of the character, Leia is small and they made this figure small, I made a comparison shot with Han Solo to show the height difference. Leia is super-articulated she has 13 points of articulation. This Leia is a must-have for the fans who loved The Force Awakens, the only problem is to get it at the right price as it is a US Walmart exclusive, not easy to find it and to find it at a decent price!

[Hasbro] Review: Black Series Poe Dameron

If you want to see the pictures of the review in Full size, you can see them on our facebook page here.

We also review the 3.75inch black series figure of Poe Dameron today. This figure has 14 points of articulation. In terms of paint apps, on my sample there is a few problems of paint apps, on one of the gloves, there is a little bit of the orange from the pilot suit and on the hair, the color of the skin, little details but it’s rather good in particular the helmet which has excellent paint apps and amazing details, even more details than on the 5POA version of Poe! Concerning the likeness of the character, you totally recognize Poe, it’s really accurate, the face, the suit, the blaster, the helmet. Here, you can see that the black series is a line with higher standards. Unlike Finn’s figure, the sculpt is really better than the 5POA version, it’s not just more articulation, it’s better and more details. This figure is definitely a must-have!

[Hasbro] Review: Black Series Finn

If you want to see the pictures of the review in Full size, you can see them on our facebook page here.

Today we review the 3.75 Black Series Finn figure. So, it’s a super-articulated figure with 14 points of articulation, a lot more than on the 5 POA. However, the high level of articulation on the legs makes it hard to stand on its feet, a problem there wasn’t with Rey figure. Another problem of articulation is the torso one, they put an articulation in the middle of his torso but it is really useless here, there is no use to it. In terms of paint apps and sculpt, there are good, very good, we can see the likeness of the character and his blaster is highly detailed for sure but the figure itself apart from the articulation is like the 5POA one, there is no improvement on the sculpt like for Rey and that’s disappointing because the Black Series line is supposed to be a line with higher standards so paying between 3 and 4 dollars more for just articulation is not worth it. This figure is not what it could have been so if you have the 5POA Finn, this one is not necessary.

[Hasbro] Review: Black Series Rey (Jakku)

If you want to see the pictures of the review in Full size, you can see them on our facebook page here.

Today we review the super articulated Rey (Jakku) figure from the Black Series line (3.75inch not the 6inch one)! The figure is very different from the 5POA version, obviously it has a lot more points of articulation – this Black Series figure has 14POA which is great for collectors who like to make their figures take battle postures. Some may wonder if the lower part of the tunic being plastic narrow the possibility of postures, and it doesn’t narrow the possibilities. I think fabric tunic wouldn’t have worked and would have been a bit difficult to do on this figure, choosing the plastic was the right choice. Rey’s head is removable to put instead her desert hood, that’s was a nice move to do, because having a removable hood to put on her head would probably have been to big and ugly like it often happened with removable helmet in the super articulated lines. Here her desert hood is the right size. However when she has her hood, the arms articulation is limited as the hood also covers her shoulders. Her hands are covered by gloves part of her desert explorer gear but she doesn’t have removable hands to have hands without gloves which is a bit disappointing as we see her with no gloves for the most important part of the movie, that’s the little detail that disappoints. In terms of accessories, she also has a bag and her staff, both are highly detailed! The figure itself is highly detailed and has great paint apps with a face bearing quite well Rey’s likeness.
So if this figure better than the 5POA version? Well, in term of articulation it is obviously better. Overall, it’s better, the sculpt is better, everything is better, the 5POA was already a great achievement but this super articulated figure does even better. The problem is that it is part of a Walmart exclusive line which make it more difficult to find and also more expensive. I think the 5POA is satisfying but if you are lucky to find the black series one it is worth it to pick it up but at a correct price not overpriced.

[Hasbro] Review: Black Series Kylo Ren

If you want to see the pictures of the review in Full size, you can see them on our facebook page here.

It’s time for our next Kylo Ren review as we promised. This Black Series 3.75 Kylo Ren is very different from the two other Kylo Ren figures in the 3.75 lines. This one is super articulated with 14 points of articulation which is an important change from the 5 POA figures. There’s obviously a better mobility of the figure for display. In terms of details, there’s also a bit more details than the 5 POA versions like the belt and on the lower parts of his body – his boots and his “skirt” that is reminiscent of Samurai. His lightsaber has much more details, there’s a hilt without the blade too. This hilt is supposed to be attached on his belt but it’s not easy to do as there’s the mini-cape just next to it and the mini-cape doesn’t move. Speaking of this, the head is attached to the mini-cape and we can’t remove the hood not make the head move much than turning it a little bit to the left or the right. So for a super articulated figures there’s some problems on it – like no removable hood, no removable helmet, an hilt not easy to attach on the belt. However, it’s definitely an improvement from the 5POA figure. The price is also a problem, it can be up to $2/3 more dollars than the 5POA ones depending on the stores. I wanted to say this figure is the perfect version of Kylo Ren but it’s not due to its problems if it didn’t have those issues it would have been the perfect Kylo Ren figure but it’s definitely an awesome figure!
