[Hasbro] Rogue One: Jyn Erso Imperial Ground Crew Disguise Review

For our last review of the 3rd wave, it’s Jyn Eros in Imperial Ground Crew Disguise! It’s basically a repaint of the Imperial Ground Crew from wave 1 except they painted the gloves and the shoes and you can remove the helmet to see Jyn’s face. In terms of accessories, she has a helmet, the two sticks to guide the ships landing and a big accessory. It would have been nice to add the gun she gives K-2SO on Scarif. For the face, it is not that bad, it is closer from what they did with the Black Series than with the single carded Jedha version but it’s not quite exactly that. Apart from that, I don’t have much to say as I already mentioned it was a repaint of a figure I already reviewed.

Comparison with the Imperial Ground Crew:

[Hasbro] Rogue One: Shoretrooper Review

If you want to see the pictures of the review in Full size and some more, you can see them on our facebook page in the album dedicated to Rogue One toyline reviews here.

Today we’re reviewing the Shoretrooper. He has the big accessory and a rifle. The rifle is a repaint of the Squad Leader’s one that came in the 2-pack with Moroff. It was a good idea to release the basic Shoretrooper in the single card line as it’s the one collectors are most likely to army build rather than a Squad Leader or a Captain.

Concerning the paint apps, they are not as good as the Black Series one but not bad either and the armor is clean, no weathering so it gives a too clean vibe to the figure. For a 5POA figure, it’s a nice figure. Hasbro is usually good with the troopers.

Here’s a picture for comparison with the Squad Leader and the Black Series trooper. You can see a real color difference. This Shoretrooper is quite pale comparing to the two others. They should have used the same colors as the Squad Leader, it would have fit with the other 5POA instead of going in those tones. It’s a bit strange to be honest.

[Hasbro] Rogue One: Death Trooper Specialist Review

If you want to see the pictures of the review in Full size and some more, you can see them on our facebook page in the album dedicated to Rogue One toyline reviews here.

Today, we’re reviewing the Death Trooper Specialist. He obviously has the big accessory but also his gun. About the gun, I don’t understand why Hasbro only gave this gun to the Death Troopers (and the blaster as well to the Black Series one) while in the movie, we also see the Specialists using a bigger riffle and it would have been nice to have it as an accessory as well instead of the big missile launcher that is not in the film. The gun is painted all in the same color without any details, it’s about the same as the Death Trooper figure that came with Pao in a 2-pack.

My biggest complain on this figure would be the visor on the side of the helmet. It’s not removable like the one on the Black Series Death Trooper. The thing is when you watch Rogue One and you take a look at the Specialists, most of them don’t have that visor unlike the normal Death Troopers so I wouldn’t call this figure quite screen accurate. The specialist equipment is not a “repack” of the one used for the Black Series one, it’s actually very different in the way that things are not placed exactly the same way and it feels a bit weird unfortunately. Apart from that for a 5POA, it’s a great figure definitely and it’s easy to army-build this one as it’s not an exclusive and it’s not part of a 2-pack! The rest of the figure is quite accurate and has good paint apps, which is very important. If you can’t get the Black Series one, this one is the one to go with for sure.

Here’s a comparison with the Death Trooper and the Black Series Death Trooper. You can see that the Specialist is not just a repack of the basic Death Trooper, the paint apps are definitely different especially on the helmet, it looks better.

[Hasbro] Rogue One: Bodhi Rook Review

If you want to see the pictures of the review in Full size and some more, you can see them on our facebook page in the album dedicated to Rogue One toyline reviews here.

We’re continuing with our reviews of the third wave, today it’s Bodhi Rook! I’m not sure why we had to wait three waves to get one of the main characters of Rogue One but at least we finally got him! For once, the big accessory included with the figure is an accessory from the movie! This is exactly what Hasbro should do with every figure and not give them some weird missile launcher coming from nowhere. Bodhi’s accessory is the backpack he uses in the movie during the battle of Scarif. It’s screen accurate and it has good paint apps.

He also has a rebel blaster painted in grey, so this one doesn’t have good paint app, a little bit more of details would have been a lot better. About the figure itself, it has good paint apps and is nicely detailed; his vest too and it can be removed to have Bodhi like he is before the battle of Scarif. When it comes to the accessories, this figure is really great. For the face, it is not that bad for the 5POA line, there is some likeness. Overall, Hasbro did a satisfying work on this one!

The Rogue One crew all together:

[Hasbro] Rebels: Grand Admiral Thrawn Review

If you want to see the pictures of the review in Full size and some more, you can see them on our facebook page in the album dedicated to Rogue One toyline reviews here.

To start the week, we’re going to review the figure of Grand Admiral Thrawn! He’s part of the third wave of the Rogue One toyline and is an animated figure from Star Wars Rebels.

The figure I’m reviewing is the second version, the one with the correct colors on his rank insignia. The first version was incorrect and only had the rank insignia blue and red. This figure is hard enough to find and Hasbro had to make a mistake with it, which is definitely driving the collectors mad.

As usual with this toyline, the figures are only 5 POA. Thrawn has his blaster that can fit in its holster and also a big accessory that doesn’t need to be mentioned again and again, this year it’s not the BAW but more useless accessory. The blaster is screen accurate and seems to have the right paint apps. Concerning the figure itself, Hasbro doesn’t do a lot of Rebels figures but the one they do are some of the best from their recent lines. It seems they put some extra care to do them or just that this style of animated figures is easier to do than the realistic ones? It’s a great figure, screen accurate and rather good paint apps. He is a welcome addition to the line, now Hasbro needs to give us the Ghost crew in their season 3 outfits to go with it!

Size comparison with Rebels Stormtroopers, you can notice he is a bit taller:

[Hasbro] Rogue One: 3.75″ Black Series Shoretrooper Review

If you want to see the pictures of the review in Full size, you can see them on our facebook page in the album dedicated to Rogue One reviews here.

First off, Hasbro has written on the packaging of the figure “Scarif Stormtrooper Squad Leader” while this figure is actually just a simple Shoretrooper/Scarif Trooper, as you can see in the guide of the different Shoretroopers, guide made by Hasbro. Releasing the simple trooper in the Black Series line makes sense, as he is not an officer, it is perfect for army builders! The big problem with this figure is the accessories, they give him a basic Imperial blaster while it would have been better to add the Shoretrooper rifle as well, that is basically its only problem. He has 16 points of articulation! A highly detailed figure with amazing paint apps and they even added a dirt effect on his armor to make it even more realistic, I love when they do that (just like when they had done that with The Clone Wars first clone troopers). The figure is movie accurate. I just love these troopers, it’s an amazing design and it fits well on beach environments like Scarif!

[Hasbro] Rogue One: 3.75″ Black Series Death Trooper Specialist Review

If you want to see the pictures of the review in Full size, you can see them on our facebook page in the album dedicated to Rogue One reviews here.

The Death Trooper Specialist is a little bit different than the normal Death Trooper, he has a belt with grenades and munitions along with a black pauldron. And they don’t have this kind of flashlight attached on their helmet. In the movie, some of the Specialists have a different rifle but Hasbro just gave the figure the basic Death Trooper rifle and a blaster pistol, that’s a bit disappointing considering that was their opportunity to give him all the movie accessories. The rifle he has is about the same as the 5POA Death Trooper but with the accurate paint apps. This figure has 14 points of articulation and is extremely detailed, it’s really accurate, the size, the details, the paint apps, everything is good! I won’t talk much about the design of this trooper as I already talked about it in my review of the 5POA one. I will add though that the specialist is reminiscent of the Heavy Gunner Trooper from the First Order with this belt, I like it, it makes them look like super soldiers and Death Troopers are supposed to be better soldiers than the usual Stormtroopers.
It’s a great figure and I will definitely try to get a few more of these!

Comparison shot with a Stormtrooper, as you can see the Death Troopers are much taller!
